Sachse is a city in Collin and Dallas counties in the state of Texas with a total area of 9.9 square miles. Sachse was founded by William Sachse, a European immigrant from Herford, Prussia in 1845. Purchasing 640 acres from Collin County, Sachse erected the first cotton mills and gins in the county. After Sachse gave 100 feet of frontage through all of his holdings to the railroad in 1886, the railroad built a depot on the frontage and named the town Sachse.
The Municipal Complex includes City Hall, the Public Safety Building, the Public Library, the Senior Activity Center, and the Michael J. Felix Community Center.
Sachse's Annual Red, White & Blue Blast is held at Heritage Park. There is live entertainment, food trucks, vendors, games, a Splashdown provided by the Sachse Fire Department and of course, fireworks. Bring your lawn chairs, blankets, and bug spray! and join us for an evening of good, old-fashioned family fun.
Easter Bunny Events - Easter Egg Scramble at Heritage Park. Children ages 2-10 come and see the Easter Bunny who will hide candy and special "prize" eggs for three age categories; 2 to 4 years of age; 5 to 7 years of age; and 8 to 10 years of age. Doggie Bone Hunt also at Heritage Park. Bring your canine friend out to the park for doggie treats, prizes and a picture with the Easter Bunny. Dogs will be divided based on weight and are required to be on a leash at all times. Also, there will be contests for best dressed or cutest canine. Flashlight Egg Hunt also at Heritage Park. It presents a special challenge to children ages 5 to 13. Bring your brightest flashlight and make sure it has new batteries. We'll search for eggs stuffed with candy and that special, prized "Golden Egg"
Ok girls, put on your dancin' shoes and get ready for a night of fun. This event is a great way for young women to strengthen their relationships with their fathers. There will be dancing, games, contests, prizes, snacks and a photobooth.
The Michael J. Felix Community Center is a 25,000 sq. ft. space which includes: a full court gymnasium, an indoor walking track, reservable meeting rooms, classrooms, a game room, and virtual fitness programs.
The Laurie Schwenk Senior Activity Center is available for seniors from 8 AM - 4 PM. Memberships are $6/year for Sachse residents and $12/year for non-residents.
